Go for Green Products – Look for gentle Biodegradable, Low Phosphorous Detergent products and remember to read the label carefully.
Use Less Laundry Detergent
-
Vinegar, the natural alternative – It's cheap, will not affect the bacterial levels in the treatment plant and does a terrific job. For tough stains, leave to soak for ten minutes before scrubbing off.
-
Never use Bleach in your Wastewater System!
-
Service your System Regularly – Regular professional maintenance will take the worry out of scheduling your services.
-
Tank-safe Landscaping – Avoid planting larger trees and shrubs or plants with high moisture requirement near your water treatment system's tanks as their root systems could cause damage. In the irrigation area, choose plants with high moisture tolerance and nutrient requirements.
Not on the Veggies! - Water from a Sewerage Treatment Plant must never be used on vegetable gardens or orchards
Insure it! – Inclusion of the water treatment systems' pumps to your household fusion policy will mean you may be compensated for any pump damage that may occur if electricity fluctuations damage your equipment
Avoid turning off your control panel or system – Turning off the power to the sewerage treatment system will stop it operating and should be avoided wherever possible. Short interruptions, such as power outages, can be sustained, but temporarily turning off the treatment system to save power should be avoided.
